Booked a place on VRBO for an upcoming trip, got the payment confirmation, but the actual booking still says “pending.” The host hasn’t responded yet, and I’m wondering how long this process usually takes. Is this normal, or does it mean the host might not accept the booking?
Had an interesting experience with this a few months back. Found the perfect rental, booked it, and got the confirmation email, but inside the app, it still showed as pending, vrbo customer service told me that some hosts manually approve bookings, so it depends on how fast they respond. Mine took about a day, and then everything was confirmed. Now I always send a quick message to the host right after booking—sometimes that speeds things up, plus it’s a good way to ask any last-minute questions about the stay!
